FAQs
- Test results
What if my Prequel Prenatal Screen test results come back positive?
If your screen turns up something unusual, your healthcare provider will discuss what it means and will offer a follow-up diagnostic procedure to confirm the results. This may be chorionic villus sampling (CVS) or amniocentesis.
How reliable is MyChoice CDx?
MyChoice CDx identifies ~34% more tumors with HRD than %LOH alone.
How do MyRisk and MyScore work together?
MyRisk and MyScore work together to provide information on hereditary cancer genes, personal and family history, breast cancer genetic risk markers, and ancestry genetic risk markers.
What can the Myriad MyRisk Cancer Test tell me?
MyRisk can reveal what caused a patient’s cancer, what treatment options are ideal, what additional risks of cancer may exist, and if a patient’s family risk of cancer is higher.
Is MyRisk testing accurate?
The Myriad MyRisk platform meets the highest industry standards with greater than 99.9% sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy.
What information will GeneSight provide to me to guide my patient’s care?
The GeneSight Psychotropic test is a pharmacogenomic test that analyzes clinically important genetic variations which may impact how your patient metabolizes and responds to certain medications used to treat mental health conditions.
What will my patient receive after their EndoPredict test?
Your patient will receive clear, individualized distant recurrence risk for years 0-10 based on her tumor’s specific biology and pathology, as well as an individualized absolute chemotherapy benefit specific to her tumor.
Who can access my test results?
Myriad is committed to keeping your results private and secure. As pioneers in molecular diagnostics, our work at Myriad requires us to develop strong relationships with healthcare professionals and earn the confidence of patients. In that spirit, we manage information according to these core values: patient privacy, regulatory oversight, and compliance with existing laws and regulations. Learn more about our
policy on genetic information.
Does a positive test result mean that I will definitely develop cancer?
No. A positive test result simply tells you that you have an increased risk of cancer.
Does a hereditary cancer positive test result mean that I have cancer?
No. Genetic testing does not tell you if you currently have cancer. Your test results will tell you about your inherited risk of developing cancer in the future.
How long does it take to get genetic testing results?
Your healthcare professional will let you know your test results as soon as they are available, which may be as soon as two weeks from the date your test is performed. Certain genetic test may require more or less time depending on the type of test and what it is for.
