Applicant Privacy Notice

This notice covers the information shared with Myriad Genetics, Inc., Myriad Genetics Laboratories, Inc., Assurex Health, Inc., Gateway Genomics, LLC, and Myriad Women’s Health, Inc. (collectively “Myriad”) as an applicant or which may be acquired or produced by Myriad during the application, recruitment, and hiring processes. “Personal Information” refers to information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular applicant. Generally, Personal Information collected in the application process helps Myriad in the recruiting and hiring process, to conduct its business, and to comply with applicable legal obligations. The information described in this Notice will be used during any resulting employment and to carry out Myriad’s application and recruitment process for the purposes described. Personal Information about candidates who accept employment with Myriad will become part of that candidate’s employment record. A candidate’s Personal Information will be shared with Myriad personnel who have a legitimate business reason to access such information and only for legitimate and lawful purposes. Personal Information may be shared with one or more of the following third parties:
  • People and entities who contract with Myriad to provide HR services, employee benefits and insurance services;
  • Governmental organization or agencies as required by applicable law or legal process;
  • External advisors such as legal or financial professionals;
  • Background or reference check providers; and
  • Individuals pursuant to consent provided by a candidate concerning their own Personal Information.
If a candidate’s application for employment is not successful, and depending on local laws, Myriad will generally keep Personal Information beyond the end of the application process for the purposes of (i) contacting you for future job vacancies, (ii) to meet recordkeeping requirements, and (iii) for potential use in legal proceedings. Myriad does not sell or share, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), any of your Personal Information (including sensitive Personal Information), nor has Myriad sold or shared any Personal Information (including sensitive Personal Information) in the preceding 12 months.

US State-specific Notice

Data regarding responses to screening questions, job interview notes, assessment results.
  • Evaluate an individual's suitability for hire, or promotion or transfer to a new position at the Company.
Contractors and service providers, including those who provide Myriad with IT services, assist with recruitment or perform background checks.
Subsequent owners in the case of a change in ownership.
Law enforcement, government authorities, or other third parties in connection with valid legal requests or legal processes.
Details about how a candidate learned about a Myriad employment opportunity.
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting methods.
Expense Data
  • To reimburse applicant expenses.
Professional or employment-related information, such as employment application information, work history, work objectives, academic and professional qualifications, educational records, references, and interview notes, background check information.
  • Evaluate an individual's suitability for hire.
  • Exercise or defend the legal rights of the Company and its employees and agents
Non-public education information, such as education records, degrees and vocational certifications obtained, report cards, and transcripts.

Additional California-specific Rights

California employees and applicants may have certain rights under the state’s privacy laws, including to request information about the collection of personal information by Myriad, to access one’s own personal information in a portable format, and to correct or delete such personal information. Information Retention

Myriad will retain personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary to carry out the purposes disclosed above. Factors Myriad considers when determining the length of time to retain personal information include:
  • The business purpose for collecting each category of personal information;
  • Myriad’s consideration of candidates for other current and future employment opportunities;
  • Whether and for how long is needed to retain the information to comply with certain legal obligations;
  • If information is needed to resolve a dispute or to enforce our contractual agreements; and
  • If information is needed for other legitimate purposes, such as to prevent harm, promote safety, security and integrity, or protect Myriad, including rights, property or products.
