William J. Harb, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified colorectal surgeon, specializing in the treatment of diseases of the colon and rectum…and he is a speaker for Myriad!

Dr. Harb’s clinical interests include treating inherited colon and rectal cancers. Through his dedication and national recognition with hereditary colorectal cancer, genetic testing has become an integral part of his practice.

“I think awareness could be increased, but a lot of it is some reluctance on the part of patients in screening for colorectal cancer,” Harb acknowledges. “We do a great job with breast cancer, and upwards of 80 percent of women are getting their mammograms to detect breast cancer, but it’s only about 50 percent for colon and rectal cancer [screenings] so we’ve obviously got a lot of room for improvement.”
