HBOC Week and Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and once again Myriad Genetics, Inc. is proud to be joining efforts with the American Cancer Society to support Making Strides against Breast Cancer. Mark your calendar and join us at this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk scheduled for Saturday October 12, 2013 from 8:00am to 1:00pm at Liberty Park (900 South 700 East) in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.

Last week Myriad held a fundraiser in our corporate office to raise awareness of HBOC and to gather donations for the walk. Several people proudly wore pink and teal and also generously donated towards the Myriad Making Strides team’s fundraising goal of $7,500.

Last year Team Myriad raised over $7,000 in support of The American Cancer Society. This year Myriad Genetics has generously offered to again match contributions up to the team’s $7,500 goal. With just under a week to go, now is the time, and this is the year to double your contribution. Turn your $5.00 donation into $10.00 – Any amount will make a significant difference.

Today, one of every two women newly diagnosed with breast cancer reaches out to the American Cancer Society for help and support. The money raised during this walk will help enable investment in groundbreaking research, free information and services for women diagnosed with this terrible disease, and access to mammograms for women who need them.
